Was Naomi Campbell being shady when she was asked her thoughts on Kim Kardashian and fiance Kanye West Vogue magazine cover?
Hmmmm…maybe a little.
During a recent interview with a London news channel, Naomi initially hesitated in giving her real opinion on the Vogue cover.
When pressed, she politely let it be known that she didn’t agree and didn’t think the couple belonged on the magazine cover. Campbell says that as a fashion model, Vogue is the go to magazine in the fashion and modeling world. Landing a cover represents you’ve now reached the height of your career. Perhaps, adding celebrities to the mix waters down the brand?
But Naomii isn’t the only celebrity questioning Vogue’s move. Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar even tweeted about cancelling her subscription.
Anna Wintour (Vogue’s Editor-in-chief), however, has defended her decision to the allow the couple to grace the cover following the backlash. In an official statement she says, “Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it. I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T.”
Check out more of what Naomi had to say when you watch the interview below.
Let’s give Naomi some credit here. She kept things really classy even when the interviewers pressed her to give her true thoughts about Kimye’s Vogue cover.
Do you agree or disagree with Naomi? Should Vogue remain true to its brand as the “fashion bible” or should they adapt with the times?

This chick is a hater for real. Just Saying
I love Naomi, she didn’t do anything wrong. She said, she was being politically correct, and that is most certainly what she did. Because we all know Naomi can be REAL honest.
