Things aren’t looking good for legendary comedian, actor and our favorite TV dad, Bill Cosby. Although Cosby was on the brink of a television comeback in a new NBC sitcom, that will not be the case.
Amidst damaging allegations of sexual assault and rape stemming from earlier days in his career, NBC, TV Land and Netflix have all decided to cut ties with the now 77 year old.
We recently reported that Cosby was accused of rape by actress Barbara Bowman. An incident she said occurred back in the 1980’s. Since Bowman’s accusations, another woman, music publicist and journalist Joan Tarshis, has also stepped forward alleging Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her when she was 19 years old.
Now, former Supermodel Janice Dickinson is also stepping forward alleging much of the same. What’s more disturbing? Allegations of the actor and comedian’s bad behavior goes back for at least two decades, at the prime of his career. Due to lack of evidence, however, he was never charged and prosecuted.
NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks said Wednesday the Cosby sitcom “is no longer under development.” A TV Land representative said the reruns will stop airing immediately for an indefinite time. “The Cosby Show” also was to have been part of a Thanksgiving sitcom marathon.- ABC
Netflix adds…
“At this time we are postponing the launch of the new stand-up comedy special Bill Cosby 77,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement.

Following the accusations, Cosby and his attorneys have continued to deny the claims.
Sweethearts, we find these allegations to be very disturbing and, like you, we wonder why now? Why would these women choose to come forward now? It is that very question that has had many Cosby fans wondering if any of the accusations are true.
Sweethearts, what are your thoughts?
