Never Make Permanent Decisions With Temporary People: While Ne-Yo Moves On, We Mourn For Monyetta Shaw

Over the weekend, we were surprised to learn that singer-songwriter, Ne-Yo and fiancee, Crystal Renay, were not only already married, but were expecting their first child together.

Immediately I pictured Ne-Yo’s ex-fiancee and the mother to his two small children, Monyetta Shaw, pulling her hair out.

If you watched the cringe-worthy episode of Atlanta Exes, where Shaw detailed her decision to permanently tie her tubes after deciding with the singer that they would no longer wanted any more children (pre-split), then you’ll understand why we’re cringing all over again.

Just damn! Not a temporary procedure, we mean, PERMANENT! She’s no longer able to have any more children.

To Shaw’s relief though (we think), the singer clarified, on Monday, that he and Renay aren’t actually married, but that they are engaged. However, there is a baby on the way.

Upon sharing the above image of himself and Renay, on his official Instagram profile, the singer writes, “Happiness. Go get you some… Shouts to @j3collection for the flick and the lovely @mscrystalrenay of course for making it look so good. (She’s the sexy in this couple… I just try to keep up) #ClassicCouple #AT #HO #TheSmiths…” #BeHappyForMyHappyOrJustBeQuiet

As you can imagine, Shaw’s defenders immediately took to social media to criticize the singer, all over again, for seemingly leaving a good woman, whom he shares two children with, to start a life and family with someone else.

And despite all the backlash, Renay also shared an image of herself and her now fiance, on her own Instagram page.

She writes, “No matter what they say” … our Miracle is on the way and I couldn’t feel more blessed. You’re negativity means nothing to us. We are happy, we’ve BEEN happy and will always be HAPPY no matter what they say … Thanking The Lord above for those who know my story know what this absolute miracle means to me. #BabySmith #Neyo #CrystalRenay #GodsChild #WasAlwaysInHisTime #BlindFaith … thank you all who are happy for our happy ….”

As for Shaw, who also shared her own Instagram photo, it doesn’t appear she’s taking things all too well.

The image read, “Classy but hurt.”

And here she is during a recent outing with the couple’s two young children, Madilyn and Mason.

Here’s a good example of not making permanent decisions, such as having children with and getting your tubes permanently tide, with a man who has no plans of making you his wife.

Further more, something I too had to accept in battling my own relationship woes, if a man questions whether he wants to be in a committed relationship with you and has no clear vision for what your future together looks like, he doesn’t want a future with YOU; despite how long you two have been together. It doesn’t mean he won’t settle down, it just may not be with you!

Monyetta girl, we feel for you.
