[New Music] Mariah Carey: “The Art of Letting Go”

Currently in the recording studio working on her 14th studio album, Mariah Carey, has just release new single “The Art of Letting Go”.

Of the new single Carey stated, “This is such a personal record to me. I wrote the lyrics so that anyone and everyone could relate to them and hopefully release anything that they need to let go of that’s holding them back or bringing them down. Thank you for sharing this experience with me!”

During a recent interview with Mashable the singer also stated, “[it’s about the] ability to let go of things, people, emotions, situations, anything that has bogged you down for a long time.”

“I like to leave things very ambiguous so my fans can interpret the songs in the way that they choose to, and that’s why I never really say, ‘Well this happened to me,” she says.

“Sometimes it’s a true story, every single word of the song, and maybe this one is, too, but you’ll never know,” Carey added.
