NBA player and boyfriend to rapper Iggy Azalea, Nick Young, graces the cover of Djour magazine’s latest November 2014 issue.

In the issue, the L.A. Laker gives DuJour magazine a lesson in his ‘school of swag,’ love life with the rapstress and his young son.

Young, who recently bought a house in Los Angeles with Iggy, declares that despite their bold personalities, “I wear the pants in the relationship.”

But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a soft side. “I think she’d describe me as charming, loving, strong—and handsome!” he adds.

And of his personal style? “I like shopping a lot, but Iggy’s been on my back saying I should get a stylist. She picked out my outfit for the ESPY [Awards] and everybody loved it, so now she thinks she’s my stylist!” says Young, who counts Rick Owens, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent among his favorite designers.

He also attributes much of his fashion sensibility from his upbringing in L.A. “In L.A. it’s streetwear, but in the Valley it’s more laid back—skinny jeans and Vans. So I had a taste for the best of both worlds.”

And the athlete’s young son isn’t far behind either. Young expresses the joy he feels to see his son emulate him. He says, “The best thing is when I see my son trying to do things like me. There’s so much of me in him. He’s got a jump shot. He can shoot, but we gotta work on his ball-handling and dribbling.”

When asked who he feels is the Lakers’ best player Young replies, “I would have to say it’s my man Kobe [Bryant], but I’m a strong second. You have to have confidence in yourself, you know?”
