Terrorist and Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden is dead ! Bin Laden was killed in a U. S. mission Sunday night following the instructions lead by President Barack Obama. He was infamously know as the master mind for executing the 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, resulting in approximately 3,000 deaths. Almost 10 years later, “Justice has been done,” says the President.
In his address to the nation Sunday night, President Barack Obama made this statement,
“Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan,” Obama said. “A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. No Americans were harmed. They took care to avoid civilian casualties. After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body.”
The President went on to say that Bin Laden’s death is “the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat al Qaeda.”
Since Bin Laden’s demise, U.S officials have already gotten word that his body was buried at sea this morning, in some form of Islamic tradition.
Americans and thousands of people around the world are already rejoicing following the announcement but one cannot help but to wonder, what does this truly mean for the American people?
What are your thoughts? Now that Osama has been killed do you feel justice has been served are should the United States be in greater fear of more attacks?
