Paula Deen, 66, was officially fired from the Food Network, on Friday, after racist remarks, Deen made in regards to African Americans, were unveiled.

The network issued an official statement which reads, “Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month,” issued by a spokesperson.

Although Deen released an apology about those remarks, it was apparently too late and the network had made their decision to let go the self-proclaimed queen of southern cooking.

In her statement Deen states, “I want to apologize to everybody for the wrong that I’ve done.”

She went on to say, “I want to learn and grow from this. Inappropriate, hurtful language is totally, totally unacceptable,” Deen said in the video. “I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I beg you, my children, my team, my fans, my partners — I beg for your forgiveness. Please forgive me for the mistakes that I made.”

“The celebrity chef and her brother are being sued for racial and sexual discrimination by Lisa Jackson, who worked as a manager of their restaurant (in Savannah, GA),” ABC reports. “During a deposition in May, Jackson’s lawyer asked Deen, 66, if she’d ever used the N-word. She said she had.”

In fact, the employee accuses Deen’s brother subjected her to sexist, racist and violent behavior and that Deen used the N word as recently as in 2007, while discussing an idea for a “plantation”-style wedding.

Why didn’t the Food Network advice her on her apology? Clearly her team had no clue what they were doing.

That bounty hunter pretty much said the same thing, and he’s still on the air. She’ll be back.
