Something great has come as a result of Pharrell Williams wearing his ridiculously over-sized tan Fedora hat to the 2014 Grammy Awards.

He’ll be auctioning it off for charity!

Pharrell’s hat caused such a frenzy, it’s taken on a life of its own. So much so, people are willing to shell out big bucks to get it.

“I’m auctioning off my hat from the Grammys to benefit From One Hand to Another,” the 40-year-old tweeted on Thursday (February 20, 2014). “Hey @Arbys, you want my hat? Now’s your chance . . .” he added with a link to the eBay auction.

After Williams walked the red carpet at the Grammys on Jan. 26 with the hat, the fast food chain tweeted, “Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back?”

The restaurant’s logo is a large red cowboy hat that looks very similar to the Vivienne Westwood “Mountain” hat worn by Williams.

Hours after announcing the auction, the musician followed up with this tweet, “We started my hat auction at $200 (the price I paid for it) and it’s already up to over 10K?”

The auction is set to run for 10 days. The proceeds will benefit the From One Hand to Another foundation which serves to help at-risk youths.

Kudos to Pharrell for turning a fashion risk and a comedic moment, at his own expense, into a fundraising event.
