Shakira has welcomed a baby boy with her boyfriend, and soccer champion Gerard Pique. Their son was born on Thursday and his proud Papa even tweeted in Spanish, “Ya ha nacido nuestro hijo! Estamos muy felices! Gracias a todos por vuestros mensajes!” which means, “Since our son was born! We are very happy! Thank you all for your messages!”
The singer announced back in September that she was expecting her first child with an official message on her website. She even revealed a photo showing off her huge baby bump back in November in anticipation of her son’s arrival.
The new mom has yet to say anything about the birth but we wonder just what she’s decided to name him? Perhaps we won’t have long to wait, Shakira will be a judge on the upcoming season of ‘The Voice‘ music competition.

*Update*: It seems we’ve been tricked. Shakira is still knocked up as of Dec. 29, 2012. The tweet by Gerard was a bit of a prank gone too far. Tisk tisk tisk Gerard. Not nice!
Shakira is due any day now and we can’t wait until she gives birth, for real this time! We’ll keep you all informed.
