Today marks the nine year anniversary for the death of the beautiful singer and performer Aaliyah Dana Haughton.

The singer, who died in a plane crash on August 25, 2001 on the Bahamas after rapping up a video shoot for then single “Rock the Boat”. Eight others died in the crash as well.

Aaliyah would have been 31 years old is she were still alive.
