Congratulations are in order for Rihanna. The Bajan beauty and singer has finally scored her first number one album with her seventh studio album, ‘Unapologetic’. Not only did the album debut atop the UK charts it also topped the US Billboard 200 charts. The final numbers are in! ‘Unapologetic’ has sold 238,949 in its first week. The album is also the singer’s highest selling debut of her career.

Although her nearly disastrous ‘777’ tour that left journalists disappointed, it was a driving promotional vehicle. The album’s controversial title and collaboration with ex Chris Brown didn’t hurt either.

That Rihanna reign certainly ain’t letting up.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Red’ album is still going strong in it’s second week. She has sold an addition 180, 547 which lands her at #2.

American Idol winner Phillip Phillips also debuted high on the charts with ‘World From The Side of the Moon’ selling 172,192 takin gthe #3 spot.

Rounding out the top five includes One Direction, Kid Rock and Pink. Unfortunately our girl Keyshia Cole only sold nearly 97,000 copies (96,695 to be exact) of her fifth studio album, Woman To Woman, placing her at #10.

Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-up’ was a major disappointment. The album’s re-release only charted at #28, selling 34,501 copies. But Nicki has a few thoughts on the matter. During a recent interview the rapstress believes Target, her biggest retailer, along with Walmart‘s decision to not sell the album caused the disappointing low sales. She also says Best Buy only ordered a limited amount copies and wasn’t totally invested in the idea of selling it to begin with.
