Rihanna Talks Viva Glam & Being An Icon On ‘Good Morning America’

You can always count on Rihanna to look her absolute best, and, that’s just what she did during her ‘Good Morning America’ appearance, Wednesday morning (January 29th). The singer, wearing an orange Chanel skirt-suit, sat down with Robin Roberts to dish on her latest project and partnership with MAC cosmetics. Although the singer has partnered with the cosmetics company before, she’s now partnering up along with their Viva Glam campaign in bringing awareness and prevention of HIV and AIDS.

The singer explained to Roberts about changing her role as a Creative Partner to becoming a Philanthropic Partner with the brand. She explained that 100% of the Viva Glam proceeds will go towards the MAC AIDS Fund, whose already raised $325 million dollars by the way. Rihanna also revealed that her goal is to raise an additional $40 million to aid in the fight against the epidemic. MAC will also donate a $2 million grant to the UNAIDS organization in their efforts to bring more awareness and prevention amongst the youth.

The singer also dished on winning an Icon Award at this year’s ‘American Music Awards’. She said that it felt surreal and that she still has some much more to do in order to live up to the title.

Of winning a Grammy for her ‘Unapologetic’ album, on Sunday (January 26), she said that it was unexpected and that she was shocked but its a good feeling to still feel excited at this point in her career.
