Rosie Perez is backpedaling after publicly speaking out against Lifetime and the recent premiere of the network’s Whitney Houston biopic.
Over the weekend, we learned of the tragic news that the late singer’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta home.
According to Perez, it was that very biopic that nearly killed the troubled 21 year old.
“Just thought about the movie that came out, and this is no disrespect to Angela Bassett because I love [her], but this unauthorized bio of her mom must have killed her,” Rosie said during a “hot topics” segment of morning talk show The View.
After realizing her words may have been too harsh, the View co-host tried her best to back track her statement.
“That was terrible phrasing,” she continued. “It must have hurt her deeply to watch that. We forget these people are human beings. We put them into the tabloids, and we forget they’re human beings.”
Bobbi Kristina is said to now be recovering after spending nearly 72 hours in a medically induced coma to reduced swelling on her brain — derived of oxygen 2-5 minutes.

Was Rosie’s choice of wording inappropriate?
As for her father and singer, Bobby Brown, while he initially asked that the public respect his daughter’s privacy during this very difficult time, he’s since provided some update on her condition.
“We are currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina,” Brown said Tuesday in a statement released by his attorney and obtained by E! News. “To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon,” he added clarifying reports Bobbi Kristina and Gordon were married. “We continue to request privacy in this matter. Please allow for our family to deal with this matter and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time,” he again stated.
Initial reports suggested Bobbi Kris may have been attempted suicide. Others suggest drugs may have played a role as well.
