Back in June we reported that Solange Knowles had gotten engaged to longtime boyfriend Alan Ferguson, 51, during her 28th birthday celebration in Jamaica. Although the couple, themselves, hadn’t confirmed or denied the reports, we can pretty much confirm that it was true. The couple are said to be tying the knot in New Orleans this weekend.
According to Us Weekly, Knowles are Ferguson, who’ve dated for several years, will officially become man and wife this Sunday. The couple will be joined by their close friends and on Friday (Nov 14th) for a movie night followed by a dinner rehearsal on Saturday and exchange vows on Sunday (Nov 16). The media outlet also reports that the ceremony will take place at the couple’s home in New Orleans.
This will be the second marriage for Knowles, who wed childhood sweetheart, Daniel Smith, at just 17 years old in early 2004. Later that same year they would welcome a son, Daniel Smith Jr. (Juelz). After just two years of marriage the couple separated and would later divorce. They now co-parent their 10-year-son together.
