Is Solange Knowles battling Bipolar disorder? The songstress has been rumored to be battling depression and was diagnosed with the mental disorder for some time now. The reports surfaced following the singer’s decision to cancel the European leg of her current tour after her erratic behavior.

In a statement released to the Pukkelpop Festival (via Singersroom) the singer reveals, “I am completely devastated to announce that I will be canceling my international festival dates for the Summer….I really had to make the best decision for my mental/physical health and provide some stability for my family….”

She continued with:

I wish I could put in words how much of a difficult decision this was,’ she posted on her site on Wednesday. ‘But between moving part time to a new city, starting my son in a new school, and writing/recording my new record, I really had to make the best decision for my mental/physical health and provide some stability for my family.’ ‘I am so so sooooo sorry if I’ve disappointed and really hope to make it out to those special cities soon enough!’

Knowles’ mention of sustaining her “mental/physical heath” raised a few eyebrows, which got readers to speculate just what that meant.

She most notably spoke at a Trayvon Martin rally recently to fight against the injustice many felt was served upon the announcement of a not guilty verdict in favor of the late teen’s shooter, George Zimmerman.

The singer still plans to continue with her U.S. tour dates however.

Do you think Solange is battling a mental break down?

If this is true, hope she gets the help she needs

IDK, mental health could just mean not wearing herself out. Sounds like she’s trying to avoid exhaustion and sleepless nights while raising a child.
