Yesterday Soulja Boy was arrested in Georgia after the vehicle he was traveling in was stopped on a traffic violation. When officers did a routine search in the vehicle they found lots of marijuana, 46,000 in cash, and a gun.
The 21 yr old “Crank Dat” rapper, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was then taken to Carrol County Jail and booked along with four passengers traveling with him at the time.
Just this morning, the rapper and his entourage faced the judge on his drug possession and weapons charges. Although, no confirmation has been made. It’s belief the weapon found in his SUV had been licensed.
Soulja Boy has since been released on a 10k bond. Further investigation is on the way.
Unfortunately, he also missed his big movie premiere for his straight to DVD film ‘Soulja Boy: The Movie’.
However, following his release Soulja Boy was back on twitter to promote the film and even thanked his fans for their support saying,
“thank you and i’m sorry. love you forever, seeing your letters and you standing outside that jail made me feel the love. my fans r the best.”
As for the charges, “I’m innocent man. I love you all. I just want you’ll to know I’m innocent,” CBS Atlanta reports.
Something tells me this kid still doesn’t get it.
