Earlier in the week, we reported that “Love and Hip Hop” reality star, Tahiry Jose, was physically assaulted by a man while preparing to walk down the runway during a NYFW fashion show.
We later learned, that the man responsible for the attack, Carlos Gonzales, was an employee to the show’s organizers.
We also learned that designer, Toure of Toure Designs, was not the party in charge of teh event but was to be apart of the show. The designer, himself, further explained some details surrounding the incident and confirmed that it took place at the venue and that Gonzales seemed to have been against the show from the very beginning.
Now, Tahiry is speaking out against her attacker and has thanked fans for their support.
Posting the above image on her official Instagram profile Tahiry writes, “Thank you ALL for your well wishes. I am both appreciative and grateful to have you on my team and call you #teamtahiry! I am sincerely touched by your outpouring of love.”
“As you may or may not know, on Monday, Sept. 8, I was attacked, assaulted and violated, while in the workplace, by a man,” she continued. “I was beaten because I am woman with a voice and refuse to be disrespected. It is more proof that the violence against women is real and needs to be addressed publicly. The shaming and disrespecting of women/victims of violent abuses must stop. Violence against women must stop; a women’s voice and refusal to be disrespected is not grounds for physical abuse. #iamwoman #myvoicematters.”
“More to the point, I am home, healing and surrounded by love. Rest assured, I will continue all my efforts and endeavors with the same faith, determination, passion and spirit I have always possesed. Again, thank you! You are ALL heroes of mine! Love, Tahiry”
There has also been reports insinuating that Jose was rude to the organizing staff and used gay slur while addressing Mr. Gonzales.
There’s no doubt that this is an unfortunate event but CK readers, is it ever okay, in any circumstances, for a man to put his hands on a woman? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
