It may be 2014 but, unfortunately, racism still exists. Following his wife’s tearful confession of the racism she’s faced since marrying a white man, Tamera Mowry‘s husband, Adam Housely, is now coming to her defense.

Although she is a producer of interracial dating herself, Mowry was shocked by some of the remarks and backlash she’s received since marrying Adam. In the revealing interview with Oprah on OWN’s, “Where Are They Now,” where she appeared with twin sister Tia Mowry last week, the actress reveals, “I get called a white man’s whore.”

“The new one was ‘back in the day you cost $300, but now you’re giving it to him for free,” she recalled.

Housely, whose a FOX News correspondent, had this to say during a recent interview with TVNewser…

“The fact that in this day and age, we get attacked for our interracial relationship is beyond sad…it is pathetic. Yes I am white. Yes she is half black. Marrying a white man does not erase her color and marrying a woman who is half black does not mean I am blinded. The problem isn’t pigmentation…the problem is backwards, bigoted thoughts from people who should know better.”

The couple have been married since 2011. They share a 14-month old son together, Aiden Housely.
