The Dream Turns Himself In & Arrested On Assault Charges

Remember when we told you that >The Dream was facing assault charges on his ex and then pregnant girlfriend Lydia Nam (See HERE)? Well the musician turned himself in to authorities, on Wednesday, to answer for the alleged crime two years after it occurred.

A rep for The Dream tells TMZ, “Dream voluntarily surrendered to the Midtown North Precinct this morning in order to responsibly address the false allegations filed against him by Lydia Nam. He is innocent of the charges filed against him today.”

The Dream arrived at a NYPD precinct at approximately 8:30 A.M. ET after a warrant had been issued, late last week, for the assault on Nam back in April 2013.

In her complaint, Nam claimed that she was kicked, punched and strangled. At the time, she had been pregnant with the ex-couple’s young son. However, for reasons unbeknown to us, Nam waited until seven months later to file charges.

Dream was booked for 2 felonies charges — assault and strangulation and 3 misdemeanors — assault, reckless endangerment and child endangerment.

He later posted $20,000 bail and was released from custody the same day. He has been ordered to stay away from Nam.
