[Throwback Fridays] Louchie Lou & Michie One: “Rich Girl”

Some of you may have thought that the original “If I Was A Rich Girl” is the 2004 hit single by Gwen Stefani. Although the song was done by Stefani for her ‘Love. Angel. Music. Baby’ solo album, the original “Rich Girl” was actually by duo Louchie Lou & Michie One. The song was released in 1993 from their 1995 album ‘I’ll Be Free’. It was inspired by the song “If I Were a Rich Man” from the musical Fiddler on the Roof. And so, in 2004, for the tenth anniversary of the famous reggae song, it was remade by Stefani and featured rapper Eve. They even won a Grammy for the record. But let’s go back a bit, paying homage to the song’s original creators. Here’s “Rich Girl”. Enjoy.
