In the slew of Jackson family drama, Michael Jackson‘s nephew, TJ Jackson (Tito Jackson‘s son), has been named the temporary guardian for his three children Prince, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 8.
It all started with a simple tweet from Paris Jackson asking where her grandmother had been and in the past week we’ve heard more details about the fight over MJ’s estate and the lack of care given to his children.
According to TMZ, Wednesday afternoon a Los Angeles
Judge, Mitch Becklook, made TJ the temporary guardian and suspended Katherine Jackson’s guardianship.
“Before Bekloff appointed TJ … TJ’s lawyer said TJ had a strange phone call with Katherine yesterday and TJ said, “I’ve never heard my grandmother talk like that.” TJ added, “She wasn’t sharp.
The pauses, choice of vocabulary … she has not used certain phrases like that before.” TJ thought she was talking in code. As TJ addressed the court, he was choking up.
Beckloff said this was not a power play by TJ and ordered the Michael Jackson Estate to give TJ the funds necessary to take care of security and anything else that’s needed for the children.
Reports also suggest that TJ may even begin proceedings to become the permanent guardian for the kids.
TMZ again reports, “TJ’s lawyer was just advised to have TJ move to get PERMANENT GUARDIANSHIP of the kids. It should be filed in the next 48 hours.”
As for Katherine’s own lawyer, Perry Sanders, he plans to oppose any effort to make TJ the permanent guardian.
Katherine Jackson is reportedly pissed and has returned from her vacation in Arizona with daughter Rebbie.
In her first statement since her “disappearance” and revelation she was just on vacation, on TJ filing and gaining guardianship Katherine says “told him it wasn’t necessary for him to go down and sign up for guardianship, but I don’t know who instructed him to do that … ’cause he wanted me to come home before that happened.”
Mrs. Jackson may also begin her own filings to over rule the previous ruling by the LA judge.
