Toni Braxton may be having some more financial problems since easing her way out of bankruptcy for the second time.
Although the recently divorced singer has paid off much of her debts, it’s clear, she still has a long way to go. Since finalizing her divorce agreement with Keri Lewis last month, the eldest of the Braxton clan is said to be living with her youngest sister Tamar Braxton and husband Vince Herbert.
Now, new reports suggest she has also lost the publishing rights to 27 of a list of songs she’s sung throughout her career. And if you know anything about the music industry, having rights to publishing is really want brings in the big pay checks.
Mrsgrapevine.com reports, “Back in 2010, Toni Braxton’s personal property was used to leverage a deal to pay off her debtors when she filed for bankruptcy. One condition of the bankruptcy was that Toni Braxton could buy back her songs at $20,000 once old debts were paid off and settled…provided she was not outbid.”
Unfortunately for Toni, a guy by the name of Ross M. Klein has done just that. He’s offered up twice the amount for each song. The list of songs include hits singles like “You’re Making Me High,” “How Many Ways,” and “Always.”
