Good news CK readers! Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan has been released from a NJ hospital and moved to a rehabilitation center to continue his recovery following the tragic NJ turnpike car accident, that left one dead, earlier this month.
“Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks,” according to the comedian’s publicist Lewis Kay.
“While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go,” Kay said in a statement.
Morgan suffered broken ribs, a broken nose and broken leg as a result of the wreck.
Morgan’s friend and fellow comedian James McNair was, unfortunately, killed in the crash.
The Walmart truck driver responsible for the accident, Kevin Roper, is sad to have fallen asleep at the wheel, after having been up for more than 24 hours, at the time of the accident.
Roper, 35, has pleaded not guilty to charges that include vehicular homicide and assault by auto. He is currently free on a $50,000 bond.
In a statement released by his publicist, on Friday, Morgan said he and his fiancee, Megan Wollover, “wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him.”
He’s expected to make a full recovery.
