Tyler Perry has confirmed what some have suspected for some time now. He and long term girlfriend, Gelila Bekele, are expecting their first child together.
Last week we told you that the girlfriend of the movie producer, actor, writer and director was believed to pregnant. At the time Bossip.com reported that, “The entertainment mogul just revealed he’s expecting his first child during his 45th birthday party last week. While he did not reveal who the mother is, sources close to Perry believe that it’s likely model/philanthropist Gelila Bekele is the mom to be. She and Perry have been linked off and on for the last five years or so.”
Now, we’ve gotten confirmation from Perry himself. During a red carpet appearance while promoting current film, ‘Gone Girl,’ over the weekend, when asked about the rumors Perry didn’t hesitate in confirming the news.
He told the Associated Press, “We’re good. Very happy. She’s excited, I’m excited so we’re very happy.”
And, there you have it!
Perry, whose known to have strong Christian beliefs, has since come under scrutiny for welcoming a child into the world before getting married.
As for the Gelila, she’s said to be seven months along.
