Tyler Perry and longtime girlfriend Gelila Bekele are now parents to a bouncing baby boy they’ve named Aman!
In fact, we now know that Bekele actually gave birth to the baby boy last Sunday (Nov. 30, 2014).
“Everyone is doing great,” a source confirmed to E! News. “They are so happy.”
Although the pregnancy was kept out of the public eye, Perry did eventually confirm that the reports that he would become a dad back in September during a red carpet appearance.
“We’re very excited about it, very excited,” Perry told E! News when asked about his girlfriend’s pregnancy at the New York premiere of ‘Gone Girl’.
Not long after, Perry accidentally revealed the sex of the unborn child during an interview with Extra while, again, promoting the film.
When asked what kind of father he hopes to be he replied, “The greatest gift I’m being given right now is the opportunity to give the little boy in me everything I never had, so that’s what I’m excited about.”
“This beautiful human being that God has allowed to come into my life for me to get to know, because they come with their own personalities, who they are, to shepherd and usher him…,” he added.
After realizing he implied the child was a boy Perry paused momentarily to clarify, “….into whatever the child is suppose to be is what I’m going to do.”
