Vanessa Minnillo & Nick Lachey Expecting First Child!

Congrats to Nick Lachey and wife Vanessa Minnillo. The couple are expecting their first child sometime late this summer or early fall.

Minnillo gave us a sneak peek of her growing baby bump while on vacation in Mexico in late February. Confirming the news, Nick Lachey also stopped by ‘Live with Regis & Kelly’ Monday morning to share the news. On her bump he joked, “It just looked like she had eaten a really big burrito for a while.”

He went on to explain finding out the news, “She was in New York and I was in the Bahamas. She went to the store and got a pregnancy test and it came back positive. We’re having a baby! He exclaimed. “This is the one thing that more than any other I’ve looked forward to, and it’s overwhelming.

Although the couple do not know the baby’s sex just yet, they’re already discussing baby names. “If it’s a girl, I think it might be Sophia. If it’s a boy, I’m not sure,” Lachey added.

As for just how he’s tending to his wife’s needs he says, “I’m the one running in the middle of the night to the restaurants to get her whatever she needs.”

According to a close source, Minnillo is about 12 weeks along.

This will be Nick and Vanessa first child. Ironically, Lachey’s famous ex, Jessica Simpson, is due, just about, any day now with her own delivery from the stork. She’s believed to be having a baby girl with fiance Eric Johnson.
