[Video Premiere] Nas: “Daughters”

Nas has premiered the visual for well received single “Daughters”. The single and video is loosely based on his own relationship with daughter, Destiny Jones, who makes an appearance in the video.

What’s ironic, however, is that Nas’ ex and Destiny’s mom, Carmen Bryan, initially shunned the song and thought Nas hadn’t been a good enough father to record and release the record. We guess, Destiny didn’t mind all that much. Check it out.

On the song and video Nas tweeted, “Daughters” is about Destiny, but the video isn’t a 100% reflection of who she is. This video represents ALL of our daughters.”

Despite the initial backlash from Carmen the record is a positive one and sends a positive message. We can’t hate him for that. Good job Mr. Nasir Jones.
