The official toxicology report for the late Whitney Houston was released Thursday afternoon from the L.A. County Coroner’s office. The report reveals Houston died from an accidental drowning but also notes the singer had cocaine in her system at the time, which may have contributed as well as heart disease. As reported at the time of her death, Houston’s body was found floating in her Beverly Hills hotel bathtub.

There were also presence of marijuana, Xanax (anxiety medication), Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and Benadryl (allergy medication).

An investigator who worked closely with the Coroner’s office also notes it’s quite possible the singer suffered a heart attack, causing her to lose consciousness and drown, stemming from hardened arteries due to cocaine use.

Following the news of Whitney’s official cause of death, the Houston family released an official statement. The family states, “We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure.”
