A carpenter and Virginia native decided he would wait 5 months before claiming his 200 million dollar winning lottery ticket. As a precaution, and a wise one I might add, Steve Williams sought out advise from legal and financial advisors before his claim.
Of the 200 mega jackpot, Williams won $125 million on the October 16th drawing but waited until last Friday before he came forward. After taxes he is said to take home 88.9 million dollars of which he says simply that he’d invest the money.
So far, it seems, Mr. Williams is playing it smart and I hope that other lottery winners will take notes.
