On Thursday, the woman revealed to authorities that an August 30th attack where acid was thrown in her face was self-inflicted.
Storro originally told police that an African American woman with an athletic build and slicked-back hair approached her at a local Starbucks and said, “Hey pretty girl, do you want to drink this?” When Storro refused the woman preceded by throwing a cup filled with acid in her face.

When police discovered that there were discrepancies in her story, including wearing sunglasses in the evening they then began a thorough investigation as to what really happened. They also had questions about the liquid’s splash patterns on Storro’s face.

On whether she will be charged, police Commander Marla Schuman stated, “she is extremely upset. she is very remorseful. In many ways it got bigger than she expected.”

So unexpected that Storro was even invited to tell her story on Lady O on The Oprah Show. When Storro canceled her appearance speculation as to what really happened went into over drive.

It is still unclear as to what motivated Storro to self-inflict her wound and mislead authorities. She was released from an Oregon hospital on September 5 after undergoing surgery.
