In some unfortunate news, it was recently announced that ‘The Young & Restless’ actor Kristoff St. John‘s son, Julian, took his life just five days before his 25th birthday.
The actor, whose played the role of Neil Winters on the popular soap opera since 1991, made confirmed the news shortly after the announcement when he tweeted, “Even the most glorious sunrise, bursting with light, love, and life, must finally set…From here to eternity.”
Professional boxer Mia St. John also addressed her son’s passing on social media.
“Our son was the light of our lives, an artist with a beautiful mind and spirit, he fought long and hard against an illness for which there is no cure. Unfortunately the pain became too great for him and I dare not say he lost the battle–he simply chose to set himself free.”
Mia and Kristoff finalized their divorce in 1995. Their son’s funeral is scheduled for December 5th (his birthday) in Westlake, California.
It’s now known that Julian struggled with mental illness for years. We send our prayers and blessings to the St. John family.
