It looks like Adele and Kanye West are the leading lady and man for this year’s Grammy nominations.
the nominations were announced during a live broadcasting on CBS, Wednesday night.

Adele snagged the nominations in some of the most notable categories, including ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ and ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’ for critically acclaimed and well received album ’21’. Kanye West leads with 7 nominations, stemming from his solo album, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, and collaboration with Jay-Z on ‘Watch The throne’. Their song “Otis” was nominated for Best Rap Performance. They’ll go up against Nicki Minaj & Drake; Lupe Fiasco; Chris Brown, Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes and newcomer Wiz Khalifa. kanye’s own “All of the Lights” was also nominated in the category.

Rock band Foo Fighters was second in command with six nominations.

Bruno Mars also has many reasons to smile. He’s up for ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’ and ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’. The queens of pop, Lady Gaga and Rihanna will compete for ‘Album of the Year’, Beyonce, unfortunately, didn’t score many nods this year or even in any of the major categories. She did however score a nod for ‘Best Rap/Song Collaboration’ with “Party” featuring André 3000. She’ll go up against former band mate Kelly Rowland with “Motivation” featuring Lil Wayne, Rihanna “What’s My Name” featuring Drake, and Kanye West for “All Of The Lights” again featuring Rihanna, Kid Cudi and Fergie as well as Eminem and DJ Khaled.

Congrats to both Nicki Minaj and J. Cole for their ‘Best New Artist’ nods. I wonder why Wiz Khalifa didn’t make the cut. Also, congrats to Melanie Fiona on her callabo with Cee-Lo on “Fool For You”, Ledisi garnering 3 nods on album ‘Pieces Of Me’.

Although deceased, Amy Winehouse, managed to sang a nomination for her collaboration with Tony Bennett on “Body & Soul”.
