Cee-Lo Green will not be returning to NBC’s “The Voice.”

The musician made the announcement during a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

“I’m not coming back, guys,” Green, 39, told Ellen.

“I don’t want to wear out my welcome there.”

Green appeared on “Ellen” alongside fellow musician Lionel Richie, 64. The joint appearance was deliberate considering the two are planning on touring together later this year.

On his future with NBC Green adds, “I’m going to continue my relationship with NBC. I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year.”

Green had been one of the four original judges since the show aired in 2011.

He joined country singer Blake Shelton, pop star Christina Aguilera and Maroon 5 front-man Adam Levine for three seasons, mentoring and giving aspiring artists the opportunity to live out their dreams.

Following his hiatus in seasons four and six, Green was had been replaced by R&B crooner Usher. Aguilera who’d also taken a break during the same seasons was replaced by Latin singer Shakira.

There’s no official world whether Aguilera will make her final exit. Usher and Shakira, however, are said to be returning.
