Chris Brown took to his twitter yesterday afternoon to announce that the European leg of his tour ‘Fan Appreciation Tour‘ had been cancelled. The first stop on the tour was to be Glasgow beginning June 9th. Ironically it had been reported that tickets were selling out so I’m guessing Brown’s prior domestic violence conviction is playing a role on the tour cancellation.
When will this guy catch a break. I’m sympathetic to victims of domestic violence but even I’m getting tired of Brown continuing to be crucified for his mistake, as horrible as it was.
For the purpose of making a formal announcement Brown’s tweet as since been taken down.
Update: Here is the official statement released by Brown’s publicist,
“Due to issues surrounding his work visa, the Ireland and United Kingdom leg of Chris Brown’s Fan Appreciation Tour has been postponed. Chris looks forward to performing for his fans abroad in the near future and thanks them for their continued support”.
Meanwhile, Britain’s Home Office released a statement of their own,
“We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence. Public safety is one of our primary concerns. Each application to enter the UK is considered on its individual merits”.
It appears Brown’s 2009 domestic violence charges following his violent altercation with then girlfriend Rihanna is the reason for denial to enter the country.
When will this all end so we can go back to normal?
