In a bold move towards the nation’s future, President Barack Obama has announced his support for same-sex marriage.
“At a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married,’’ Obama said during an exclusive interview with “Good Morning America’s’ Robin Roberts.
“They’re [anti-gay rights supports] coming at it because they care about families,” he said. “And they have a different understanding, in terms of, you know, what the word ‘marriage’ should mean. And a bunch of them are friends of mine, you know, pastors and … people who I deeply respect.”
Watch as the President detail why he now supports the cause and how this may change the course of America.
Obama is the now first President to announce his support of gays seeking equal rights to marry.
Smart move for a president seeking a second term, right?
