Lil Wayne Gets Dropped From Mountain Dew Following Emmett Till Controversy

2

Lil_Wayne_Loses_Endorsement_DealLil Wayne no longer has his endorsement deal with soda company, Mountain Dew.

The announcement shouldn’t be any surprise considering Wayne’s ongoing battle with Emmett Till‘s family over disrespectful lyrics he made about the civil rights figure.

In his lyrics on Future‘s “Karate Chop” remix Wayne rhymes, “Beat the p—y up like Emmett Till”.

Although Wayne issued an “apology”, via a letter, the family believed his letter was not enough. Wanye failed to actually use the words “I’m sorry” in his apology to the family.

Since the release of the record, the family has actually advocated to get the company (owned by Pepsi) and other endorsers of the rapper to part ways with him. We’re guessing their attempts worked.

Emmett Till was killed back in 1955 for flirting with a white woman in Mississippi. His body was later discovered in the Tallahatchie River
