NBA player Amar’e Stoudemire and longtime girlfriend Alexis Welch tied the knot Wednesday in a private roof top ceremony. Alexis and Amar’e was inspired by the special 12/12/12 and decided to get married.
Amar’e tweeted earlier this morning, “12.12.12 now has a special & spiritual meaning for us… ”
He also shared this photo of their wedding rings.
The NY Post reveals the wedding was attended by a small group of family and friends including the couples three children Amar’e Jr, Ar’e, and Assatta.
“Less than seven other people were there, no Knicks teammates. It was just about them,” a source said. But this won’t be the couple’s only ceremony. “They are planning a big bash next year for friends and family to have a great time,” a source said.
The couple became engaged back in June when Amar’e proposed while vacationing in Paris.
