Shad Moss (formerly known as Bow Wow) says that it was love that urged him to propose to “Love and Hip Hop” reality star, Erica Mena, after only six months of dating.
In fact, he conducted an interview with BET to confirm the engagement and says it isn’t a publicity stunt despite speculation. He also adds that despite the short courtship, he’s actually known Erica since his 2005 single “Fresh Az I’m Iz” and video. Erica had been featured in the video.
“I did this out of love,” Shad revealed during a phone interview with “106 & Park” co-host Keshia Chante. “I’ve never been the type of person to do things for publicity,” he adds.
Upon news the couple were engaged, Moss also unveiled a closer look at the diamond engagement ring with fans on social media site Instagram, adding, “Shout out my jeweler @elliotavianne for doing a wonderful job on my fiancé ring. She cried instantly. Thanks my brotha!”
