Heavy D passed away nearly two months ago but toxicology reports are now revealing what killed the rapper. According to the LA County Coroner’s Office, the rapper died from a pulmonary embolism, or rather a blood clot in the lung. The office believes the blood clot,  formed in a vessel in his leg, was likely a result from traveling on a long flight back to LA.

Heavy D, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, had been traveling back from Wales where he performed during a Michael Jackson tribute concert. He also suffered from heart disease, which is believed to be another contributing factor in his death.

On the morning of November 9th, the rapper had had trouble breathing after collapsing outside his Beverly Hills home. Shortly thereafter, he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

He was 44 years old.
