David Beckham Announces He’s Retiring From Soccer

David_Beckham_RetiresAt just 38 years old, David Beckham is out! Finished with his soccer career that is. The athlete announced his retirement from the game early Thursday morning.

Of his retirement he stated, “I wouldn’t have achieved what I have done today without my family,” Beckham in a statement. “I’m grateful for my parents’ sacrifice, which made me realise my dreams.”

“I owe everything to Victoria and the kids, who have given me the inspiration and support to play at the highest level for such a long period.” he continued.

“I’m thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level,” added Beckham.

The soccer star’s career have spanned nearly 20 years. He’s won 100 caps for his native country, England, and19 trophies in two different continents. His announcement comes days after his latest title win with French club Paris Saint-Germain.

He went on to thank his fans for their support and strength to succeed.
