Jada Pinkett Smith is getting back to her roots, acting that is. The actress just announced she’ll be staring in Fox’s upcoming Batman prequel, Gotham, as villian, “Fish Mooney.”
Smith took to her official Facebook page, earlier today (February 19, 2014) to say…
“Last night, I decided to accept the role of Fish Mooney, who is the sadistic villain in thee upcoming Batman prequel, Gotham, for Fox TV,” Pinkett-Smith announced.
“I’ve committed to a year to work alongside a very talented cast, a super cool, creative and talented head writer and an extraordinary director. This one…is going to be funnnnnn!”

Jada, who got her big acting break in 1990 on then sitcom, A Different World, last appeared and stared in a television series, “Hawthorne,” in 2011. After three seasons, the show was cancelled.
FOX have yet to make any official announcements about the upcoming drama and original series. We will keep you posted.
