Jennifer Hudson is officially and ‘American Idol’ judge! The singer has just signed on for season 13 to sit among the judging panel.
Although Hudson did not win during season 3 when she was a contestant, she has gone on to have a successful Grammy and Academy award winning career.
And now, after Randy Jackson announced his departure, we now know that current judges, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban, will not be returning.
Former Idol contestants including Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert and/or Clay Aiken are also rumored to join Hudson as judges for the show’s upcoming season.

i knew she would get it
I think having four AI past contestants as judges is a foolish idea. While they’ve all gone on to have success, only Kelly has had true commercial success as an recording artist. Jennifer makes more money from Weight Watchers than her music. Clay is, well Clay. Adam Lambert plays the gay circuit. How can any of them offer up music advice?
