American-Idol-Cancelled

American Idol has officially been cancelled after 15 seasons. Sad? Hmmmm…we’re guessing that’s a no.

Yeah let’s face it, it’s been coming for a long time now. And actually, we’re surprised FOX didn’t cancel the music competition show three seasons ago. A big indicator? The show’s co-creator and judge Simon Cowell decided to aboard ship in 2011.

The network’s official announcement reads, “AMERICAN IDOL will begin its 15th – and final – season this January on FOX. A season-long celebratory event, AMERICAN IDOL XV will feature host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., as they search for the final IDOL superstar and pay tribute to the past 14 seasons of amazingly talented contestants and the millions of fans who tweeted, texted and championed their IDOLs.”

Well, that was straight to the point. We’re guessing FOX didn’t want to drag this out any longer than they have already.

Idol has catapulted the careers of stars including, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia, Reuben Studdard, Clay Aiken, and Kelly Clarkson just to name a few.

Are you said to see the series depart from the airwaves?
