Pop star sensation turn bad boy, Justin Bieber, may be in trouble with the law again.
The singer was just charged with assault for an incident that occurred in Toronto, CA last December. According to the reports, on December 30, 2013, Bieber struck a limo driver in the back of the head following an argument.
“Toronto Police have released new details of the Dec. 30 incident … and say the limo driver had picked up 6 passengers around 2:50 AM — including Justin — when a fight broke out between the driver and “one of the passengers,” reports TMZ.com
“Cops say the passenger — allegedly Justin — hit the limo driver in the back of the head “several times” during the fight, and when the driver stopped to call police … Justin fled the scene.”
The singer turned himself into Toronto officials, Wednesday night, to face the assault charge.
The site adds, “Bieber’s lawyer, Howard Weitzman, says he expects this will be treated like a low level crime — the equivalent of a misdemeanor is the U.S. And, Weitzman says, “’Our position is Mr. Bieber is innocent.’”
But wait there’s more. Remember Bieber’s arrest just a week ago (See HERE)? You know, the one where he spent 24 hours behind bars for driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and drag racing on a Miami street.
Well, the toxicology reports are in.
The singer tested positive for marijuana and prescription medication.
“Justin’s urine was tested right after he was busted for driving under the influence on January 23 … and it shows there was THC and Alprazolam (a key ingredient for Xanax) in his system,” reports the news site.
Thankfully, however, Bieber was tested negative for cocaine, opiates, meth and other drugs.
The singer has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to face a Miami judge on February 14th.
