Simon Cowell has chosen singers Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio as his new ‘X Factor’ judges for the show’s upcoming third season.
Of the decision Cowell released this statement, “It’s taken more than a decade but I’m delighted to finally be on a panel with three girls (I think!),” Cowell said in his statement. “Paulina and Kelly both have great taste and massive experience in the music industry and together with Demi, this is going to be a fun panel. It just feels like the time to do something different.”
Rowland whose been a judge for the show’s UK version added, “I am very excited to be reuniting with Simon Cowell and The X Factor family. It feels great to be able to take this journey here at home in the states!”
As for Rubio, she was recently a vocal coach for another music competition show for Telemundo’s La Voz…Mexico. On joining Simon and the judging panel she added, “I love The X Factor! I can’t wait to find the next big music star here in America. I’m so thrilled to be part of the show as a judge. Simon, be careful what you wish for, let’s see if you are ready to handle me, empieza la fiesta, amigo!”
We hear Paulina is pretty fiesty. Has Simon found his match? We shall see.
Rowland and Rubio will join Cowell and returning season 2 judge and singer Demi Lovato to round out the judging panel.
One of the show’s original judges, LA. Reid, and season two judge Britney Spears parted ways with the show last season to focus on other projects.
Do you think Kelly and Paulina will be great additions to the show?
