Nene Leakes is the epitome of self branding 101. The reality star turn actress, singer, philanthropist, fashion designer and television personality has a lot going for herself. Love her or hate her, you have to admit, Nene is a very smart woman.
Although, I too have criticized Leakes in the past for her sometimes outlandish behavior on hit reality series Real Housewives of Atlanta, and the ability to “read” like no other, one thing’s for sure, Leakes has created a brand that has staying power.
In seven seasons, Leakes has not only become a household name, she can now call herself an actress; a transition not many reality stars are able to make.
She has her own clothing line (The Nene Leakes Collection), has had her own reality show spin-off (I Dream of: The Wedding), has appeared on The Apprentice, has a charity dedicated to victims of abuse, she’s starred in a Broadway play; Cinderella, and has also starred in two television series, Glee and The New Normal.
And although Leakes recently announced her departure from RHOA, there’s no shadow of a doubt that the sky is the limit for Leakes.
On Monday, Leakes served as a celebrity guest to E!’s hit series, Fashion Police. Prior to going live, Leakes shared the upon image of herself, on her Instagram profile page, with this caption, “Warming up my seat fabulously! TUNE INTO FASHION POLICE TONIGHT @ 8pm on E #yvessaintlaurent.”
Since Joan Rivers‘ untimely death last year, Leakes name has been mentioned as a permanent contender to fill her shoe. We’re guessing, that may very well be the case.
There are also rumors that Leakes may have another reality show spin-off in the works and mayhost her very own talks show. We wish her all the best.
