Lupita Nyong’o Wins Best Supporting Actress for ’12 Years A Slave’ (Speech)

To no one’s surprise, Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o won Best Supporting Actress for her role and impressive performance as a field slave in the critically acclaimed “12 Years A Slave,” during Sunday night’s Academy Awards.

During her Oscar speech Nyong’o stated, “When I look down at this golden statue, may it remind me and every little child that no matter where you’re from your dreams are valid.”

What a great way to celebrate your 31st birthday huh? The actress turned 31 just the day before on March 1st.
