Hi readers! I had the pleasure of putting together my very first event last weekend in New York City. Although the prep work was overwhelming, I am happy I did it. I was responsible for putting together the entire production, and, I say that with pride. I have been to many events but to plan my own was an experience I was very anxious about but glad that I accomplished it. Furthermore, it was successful. I received support from those I didn’t expect would support me and left feeling satisfied with the overall turn out and results.
When I started the blog six years ago, I had no idea what I wanted to do with it and where I wanted to take it. I was a music and pop culture junkie who wanted readers to indulge in their favorite celeb and all things entertainment, hence the phrase “treat your sweet tooth…”
For much of that time I stayed behind the scenes. Now, I’ve decided to take things one step further and extended the brand off by providing publicity, marketing and promotion, and event planning services in the entertainment and beauty fields.
With that being said, I wanted to create an event that catered to women empowerment, beauty while incorporating a workshop. Since I’ve begun to play around with makeup a bit more I wanted to enhance on these skills and thought it I cared to learn others did as well. So… the idea to hold a makeup tutorial and beauty mixer came to life.
I want to thank my vendors, Because of you Organics, Snob Candy Boutique, So Sweet Decor and Beauty Box on the Go for helping to make this such a successful and fun event.
I’d also like to thank my sponsor, Sweet Bitch Wines, for providing their delectable wines.
And a big shout to the caterers, Mikal an Jahvad of Trust in us Catering.
And, of course, our Motives Cosmetics makeup artist and consultant, Shadae Rowe for instructing a great class.
And thank you to my models Sade Hawkins and Shana Hittfor their participation.
I’d especially like to thank the attendees! Of all the places you could have gone and activities you could have participated in that day you all decided to spend your day with me. Thank you thank you thank you! Without you guys we wouldn’t have had such and insightful, fun, and interactive event.
Please check out several of the photos of the event below, share, and enjoy ;-).
Here’s a quick video snapshot of the event in a nutshell.
