There are many things the queen of media herself, Oprah Winfrey, wanted to do in life, except one thing — be a mother.

In her sit down interview with The Hollywood Reporter Winfrey says, “If I had kids, my kids would hate me.”

“They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me; because something (in my life) would have had to suffer and it would’ve probably been them,” she adds.

“While (best friend Gayle King) was having those kinds of daydreams, I was having daydreams about how I could be Martin Luther King.”

Winfrey, 59, who was just nominated for a Screen Actor’s Guild award for her role in “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” by the way, also talk a bit about not wanting to marry.

Although Winfrey and her longtime partner, Stedman Graham, 62, have been together since 1986 and were once engaged, they never tied the knot.

“I’m not a traditional woman and I haven’t had a traditional life,” Winfrey said, in an interview for British talk show “Lorraine” in November.

“I think that had Stedman and I gotten married, we certainly wouldn’t have stayed married.”

But Oprah is a mom, in her own way, to the nearly two hundred girls attending her Leadership Academy for Girls, the school she opened in South Africa back in 2007.

She says, “I’m responding to everything from ‘I’m feeling lost’ to ‘I need advice about a boy.'”

I always suspected she was gay and Stedman was just her cover…. something a little odd about their relationship.

It’s not uncommon for people who experienced sexual abuse abuse in their childhood to grow up not wanting to have children. She is serving a great purpose nurturing existing life.
