On Monday an Indiana judge sentenced ‘Teen Mom’ star Amber Portwood to five years in prison. The ruling came in slew of Portwood’s drug possession and arrest and also failing to provide a urine sample last December. It was also a probation violation after getting into a violent altercation earlier in the year.
However, it seems, Portwood has reached a plea deal with prosecutors and could avoid jail time. The judge has agreed that to the terms that if Portwood can commit and complete a drug rehabilitation program her case will be dismissed.
Amber will, for now, remain in custody pending a full evaluation by the Drug Court team, which could take up to two weeks.
Portwood, 21, has faced a number of legal troubles since her 2011 debut on the MTV reality show. So much so, that it resulted in losing custody of her toddler daughter Leah, due to child endangerment charges.
